Gone Fishin'

Saturday was Free Fishing Day.
We headed up to Island Park early to see if we could catch a fish or two.
Can you still call it fishing even if you don't catch a fish?

Well we didn't catch anything.
But we did enjoy being outside with all the beautiful scenery.
And luckily we brought some other food with us. So after our fishing escapade we went back to Nate & Kate's cabin, had a little bon fire, and roasted some hot dogs and marshmallows. The rest of the evening was spent playing games and just hanging out at the cabin. What a fun day it was!

As for Friday night, my company paid for us to go see the new Karate Kid. We really enjoyed it! I don't really remember the original Karate Kid, so I'm not sure how it compares. But we thought Jaden Smith was pretty cute. We would recommend it.

Happy Monday. I hope you all have a great week.

Take A Peek

Have you ever heard of Bountiful Baskets? It's located in Arizona, Utah, and Idaho. It's like only one of the best things ever created. You pay $15 bucks on Monday, and then on Saturday you go and pick up this huge basket of produce. You don't get to choose what you want or don't want, it's just random. It is pretty cool spending less than I would at the grocery store and getting way more out of my money. I kind of also love the random selection. I love getting stuff that I normally wouldn't buy. We will definitely be doing this every week. If you want more information check out their site at www.boutifulbaskets.org
We got tons of bok choy, lettuce, honey dew ,bananas, corn on the cob, potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, apples, peaches, blackberries, and grapes.

Onto my second item...completely separate from produce. Remember how I said I recently inherited my mom's old sewing machine? Well I made those curtains with her as my teacher. I just did whatever she told me to do. But yesterday I wanted to make a purse...only problem was my mom wasn't here to show me what to do. With only one phone call to her and 3 1/2 hours later, I succeeded at making this!
I found the material on a clearance rack last weekend and automatically fell in love with it. I changed the pattern just a tinge and added the flower on just for me. I love it. What do you think?

Snow Blizzards, Family, Sewing, & Diesel Trucks

This past weekend my parent came to visit! It was so fun to spend time with them although it only made me miss them more. I think I miss them more now that I'm married than I did when I was single. But we were able to do a lot of fun things with them.

We drove up to Montana on Thursday and the first night we just played with our niece and nephews outside. Brian also starting installing some new diesel parts on my brothers truck. He finished with the truck by Friday afternoon. While he was doing that, my mom was giving me some sewing lessons. You'll find some pictures of my first little project below. Since I just inherited my mom's old machine, I am excited to be able to make some cute things to decorate our apartment.

Saturday we went to Chuck-E-Cheese with the whole fam. We all LOVE Chuck-E-Cheese!

Grant loved having uncle Brian there to play the Wii with him. Or maybe Brian loved going to visit so he could play the Wii with Grant. Either way, they both enjoyed themselves.

Then on our drive home, we made it all the way to Island Park before we hit the blizzard. That's right. A snow storm....on May 29th. yuck.
Oh....and here is my first sewing project. I made a window valance for our bedroom to match this quilt my mom made.
Looks professional, eh?
