Christmas makes us smile

On our way to a Christmas Eve Party. Someone was sooo excited that he found his hat and put it on himself...even if it was backwards:)

He slept in till 10:30 on Christmas morning. Brian and I wanted to wake him up because we wanted to open gifts. But we let him sleep. He was pretty happy to get jammie pants that matched mom and dad's!

 Always such a cheeser!
His grandma Jo Jo made him a raggedy Andy doll. He LOVES it and always wants to know where his "Andy" is.
And I'm not sure, but I think Brekan was equally as excited for his new tool set as his daddy was.
Loves his safety goggles and power drill!

And a few days after Christmas we found this fun little table on sale. Brekan thinks it cooler than any of his other toys. He won't sit still to eat at it, but he sure does loves to climb all over it!
And who's up for a mid-morning snack of popcorn? He found the bowl on the floor, went to the kitchen and pulled a bag of popcorn off the counter, poured the popcorn in the bowl, then opened the drawer and got himself a spoon to eat the popcorn with, and finally walked to a corner sat down with his treat and ate his popcorn like he would a bowl of cereal. Such a funny boy!

Christmas was so much fun this year with a little one in the house. Although he still didn't really "get it", it was so fun to see him play with the new things that he got!

In LOVE with his dada

We have gotten pretty spoiled to have Brian home a lot lately. With a week home during the snow storm and then the holidays, Brekan has gotten accustomed to having dada around.

He won't leave Brian alone in the evenings, and LOVES it when his dad comes to get him in the morning on the weekend:)
And this momma loves the little break it gives her from being the entertainment all the time. Plus, these 2 boys are pretttty adorable together if you ask me:)

Snow Day!

We got 8 inches of snow in Arkansas!

We really don't own snow clothes for brek so we had to improvise.

He wore some of my socks that went up to his thighs...best idea we had! And now i'm kicking myself that I didn't put long sock on his arms under his gloves. We just put some of his little socks under his gloves and they kept coming off.

Luckily we had a big coat that my sister in law had given us last year. I didn't expect to use it till next year, but it was perfect!

Brek liked it the first day....until he got some snow on his face
Day 2 we prepped for playing in the snow by eating chips and cheese dip so our tummies would be happy. Brekan ate and ate and ate until we finally took it away and gave him some veggies.
I think he had a lot more fun in the snow today.

Brian built a big snow pile for brek to sled down.
On our homemade sled made of a pillow in a trash bag:)

I guess mom's not very good at pushing him down the hill, haha. But he didn't even cry!
Just laid there until I came and helped him up. Then dad took over!

He loved it. We played for about an hour!

When we came inside and got his snow clothes off, he climbed on the couch and said, "Mom, CHEESE." How can I say no to that face?!

Thanksgiving Picture Overload

We had the BEST Thanksgiving!

Partly due to the amazing food I made .
(yes, i'm still giving myself praise for how good everything turned out)

But mainly it was so perfect because of the company.

Our friends from college came to visit us from Houston. We hadn't seen them in 3 years and now we have 3 kids between us.

The best idea we had was to put the kids down for a nap and enjoy our Thanksgiving dinner sans kids!

And when they woke up we took them out for a little football and running around.
This one is becoming such a cheeser!
Took 15 minutes to set up the camera to take this, but so glad we got a picture of us all!
Brian made Joe help him get a Christmas tree:)

We lucked out with pretty decent weather and took the Durfees over to Crystal Bridges.

And Novie Lou even gave me a few big smiles! Such a pretty girl!

And before they headed out of town Bentley and Brekan read stories together:)

We seriously had so much fun! Not pictured was all our black friday adventures, settlers of catan game night, and all the snacks and food consumed.

They basically need to move here ASAP. Thanks so much for making the long 9 hour drive to see us. We loved every minute you were here!!!!
